Today in Gaming 03.03.2015 – Phantom Pain Release Leak and Final Fantasy X Comes To PS4

Whoops, looks like the Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain release date has leaked. Speaking of release dates we know Mad Max’s now and that Gone Home on console doesn’t have one – in fact it’s not even being actively developed. Besides that Helldivers comes to PS4 tomorrow and Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster is on the way too.

Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain Release Date Leaked

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will launch worldwide on September 1st 2015.

The official announcement was planned for tomorrow, but like so many of gamings secrets managed to leak early. Some sneaky NeoGAF users are responsible finding a couple of video interviews with series creator Hideo Kojima on IGN’s website server which reveal the release date.

Eurogamer posted the most interesting part of the interview, where Kojima announced this will be his last Metal Gear Solid – again.

“I always say this will be my last Metal Gear, but the games in the series that I’ve personally produced – Metal on MSX, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, 4 and Peace Walker – and now Metal Gear Solid 5 constitute a single Metal Gear saga,”

“With Metal Gear Solid 5 I’m finally closing the loop on that saga. In that sense, this will be the final Metal Gear Solid. To me, this is the last Metal Gear.”

Gone Home Not ‘Actively in Development’ For Consoles

Indie darling Gone Home is not “actively in development for consoles”.

That’s according to game designer Steve Gaynor speaking on Twitch Show Colin and Greg Live. Issues with developer Midnight City who were responsible for the port seem to be responsible, and with their parent company Majesco.

“At this point, unfortunately, I have to acknowledge that Gone Home for console is not actively in development any longer,” Gaynor said. “That deal with Majesco has sadly come to an end. So, we don’t really know what that means for Gone Home for console for us. In the immediate term, it’s no longer a going thing.”

Sad news for sure. If you really want to play Gone Home you can still play on PC.

Mad Max Set for September Release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4

Avalanche Studios’ Mad Max will launch September 4th in the UK on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Although PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were also announced Game Informer has recently reported that these have been “left by the wayside”.
